Santogold - Lights Out

Louis C.K. - Deer Suck

Who Am I?

One of Americas greatest actors, Andrew Divoff.

Andrew Divoff

Easily overlooked by those not appreciating thespian excellence, Andrew has been involved in many pictures that shaped my adolescence. Having been cast in an episode of Burn Notice, I found myself reminiscing on Andrew’s work. Here are the highlights in my book:

Toy Soldiers (1991) - The meeting of Die Hard and Taps, Andrew decides to take an elite boarding school hostage to force the release of his brother. Little did he know, but Mikey from The Goonies had other plans. Classic hilarity ensues.

Another 48 Hours (1990) - Any that can give Nick Nolte a hard time is alright with me.

Well, there is more out there, but who cares.

Wagon Wheel - Old Crow Medicine Show

I have been needing a taste of home in these turbulent times, and Old Crow Medicine Show is the answer.  Out of Tennessee, this the rockabilly cure-all.  Enjoy.

IFC to Distribute & Release “Dead Snow”

The Norweigan Nazi-Zombie film, what a great premise, Dead Snow has been picked by IFC at Sundance for distribution and release.  IFC grabbing this film is a great sign not only of the quality of the flick, but also a sign that the film will be kept whole and not cut for American audiences.  Happy…below is the trailer for Dead Snow as well as the list of films picked for distribution at Sundance (not seeing Bronson anywhere) and after the jump the list of films tapped for distribution according to Peter Martin at Cinematical.com.

Cast of “The Expendables”

We were told that another Rambo is in the works, but until that happens we are left wondering when Sylvester Stallone will right the wrongs in war-torn countries across the globe.  Well no more.  Sly is starring, writing and directing a new movie, as he did the remarkable Rambo, called The Expendables that might just be the tongue-and-cheek version of what the Rambo movies have been so serious about all these years, the horror of war and the expendable nature of soldiers sent to fight (I reference Rambo:First Blood Part 2, the riverboat Ho/Rambo speech about being expendable, not getting invited to the party, “You’re not expendable Rambo”, etc).

Will Sheff of Okkervil River - “Plus Ones”

Great song, wish I had been here to hear this version at the Sound Fix Lounge in Brooklyn, New York back in 2007.

Fleet Foxes - “He Doesn’t Know Why”

One of the best songs of the year, and unfortunately one of the only songs I actually like of the Fleet Foxes.

Wheels of Terror

For Michael Madigan….enoy.
